Paul David Petrich (59) passed peacefully on January 16, 2023 at home in Austin, Texas. Paul was born on November 9, 1963, in Yoakum, Texas, to Minnie Marie Smith and William Paul Jr. Paul graduated from John H. Reagan high school with the class of ’82. Although raised on country music, Paul loved fast cars and rock and roll. Paul was a grease monkey who could fix almost anything. He could never turn away a stray animal and was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. Paul had a sense of humor – Whether or not it was a good sense of humor depends on who you ask. Paul was a supportive “dance dad” who knew how to do hair, make-up, and costume alterations as well as any mom (although his techniques were often unconventional). He built with his own hands the dance studio that raised many of his children, nieces, and nephews. He once drove dancers all the way to Vegas and Los Angeles because they could not afford to fly. He was always willing to help a friend or neighbor with their projects and never asked for anything in return. Paul had a heart too sensitive for this world and he loved others with a passion that never quite extended to himself. Paul is preceded in death by his parents and older brother Michael. Those left behind to keep the memory of his love and affection alive include his three children, Rachael, Jeremy and Cheyenne, his brother Mark, and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Paul also leaves behind his girlfriend Lorena Garcia- Leon, her son Andreas Estrada, and his faithful dog Bevo, who all gave him much joy these past few years. His family will hold a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, March 8 at 2pm at the Rattan Creek Community Center - 7617 Elkhorn Mountain Trail Austin, TX 78729
